A PLUCKY pensioner who was involved in a collison with a van in St Helens town centre wants to say a big 'thank-you' to three mystery women who went to his aid.
Eighty-two-year Harry Griffiths from Parr was left badly shaken and suffering minor cuts and bruises following the accident in Ormskirk Street at about 10.15 am on Friday, February 7
Widower Harry, who was knocked to the floor and also received a serious bump to the head, was full of praise for the trio of Samaritans.
He told the Star: "One lady put her coat under my head, one put her coat over the top of me, and the other called for an ambulance.
"I don't know what I would have done without their help and as I probably wouldn't recognise them if I saw them again, I would like to take this opportunity, through the Star, to say thank-you all very much."
