PLANS to link East Lancashire with Europe in a high tech tie-up are under way.
The North West Technology Web was launched last year from six centres in the region including the Blackburn Technology Management Centre.
Now plans to link the North West web with other regions throughout Europe have been unveiled.
"The North West Technology Web is already making an impact with small and medium sized companies," said Lancashire Enterprises plc chief executive David Taylor.
"Through a range of innovation and technology services we are helping companies develop and commercialise new products and processes."
"By working with other European regions we will be able to provide access to technology, research and innovation available on the continent."
Two new board appointments have been announced at Lancashire Enterprises plc.
The economic development firm has recruited Laurence King as finance director and Gwynne Furlong as director of property.
Laurence, 34, joins the firm from Baxi Partnership where he was group finance director and company secretary.
Gwynne, 49, was previously managing director of the Northern Trust Group of Companies.
