TALENTED youngsters from the St Helens Youth Brass Band hit all the right notes when they were pronounced the winners in a national competition over the weekend.

The band, which consists of youngsters from all over the St Helens area, are on a roll at the moment, having won their first ever shield for coming sixth in the Music Section of a competition held in Blackpool earlier this month.

Now, they have confirmed their talent by overcoming numerous young bands from across the country to reach the top spot in the National Youth Brass Band Championships of Great Britain, which was held in Salford on Saturday, February 15.

IF you would like to hear their award-winning sounds, they will be playing a concert at Yorkshire Metals Social Club on the East Lancs Road at 7.30pm on Saturday, April 26.
