SVEN Goran Eriksson's situation remained in stalemate today - even though it is becoming increasingly obvious that he is about to turn his back on Blackburn Rovers.

Despite several reports, he has not yet told the club officially that he will not be coming to Ewood.

But it seems only a matter of time before he has to go public and announce the decision.

Rovers do not appear to be prepared to break the agreement.

Speaking today to the Lancashire Evening Telegraph from his home in Genoa, he said: "Nothing has changed - I hope something will happen soon so that the situation can be clarified, but so far it hasn't.

"Naturally, all the speculation is affecting me in some ways.

"It is difficult and I realise it is difficult for others too, which I am sorry about. "I expect to be able to make an announcement soon."

Meanwhile, Rovers youngster Keith Brown faces internal disciplinary action after being sent off in last night's 3-0 FA Youth Cup victory at Nottingham Forest.

He was shown the red card deep into stoppage time following an off-the-ball incident and youth coach Alan Irvine said: "It was a really sour note to round off the evening and totally unacceptable.

"Until then it had been a thoroughly professional performance by the whole team."

Brown's dismissal could mean he will miss the Youth Cup quarter final against Norwich City through suspension, though a date for that game has still to be arranged.

Rovers Reserves' re-arranged game against Manchester United last night was called off because of the weather.
