BLACKPOOL Football Club isn't just getting them in the net - they're getting on the Net - Internet that is!

Managing director Gill Bridge said: "Fans are always looking for more information - as are visitors to the club - so we feel this is a comprehensive modern way to display up-to-the-minute details.

"The club is delighted to be able to take advantage of the Internet and hope to score points with our fans worldwide."

Blackpool Football Club's web site has been designed locally by Arnold School and the Internet has been accessed by Fylde provider Cyberscape.

Sandy Taylor, creator of Cyberscape, said: "We have worked closely with Arnold School for more than a year, ever since they put the school's prospectus on the Internet.

"By coming on-line, the club develops all sorts of markets and benefits in a very tangible way.

"Ultimately, the club could be selling match tickets or merchandise over the Net. By the end of the year, three million users will be connected."

Cyberscape is situated at Pleasure Island in St Annes and offers a range of facilities.

The site includes club history, stadium details, player information, sponsorship deals and management structure, as well as details of how visiting teams can get to Bloomfield Road.

Simon Gardiner, a design teacher at Arnold School, said: "Pupils Alan Stott and Steven Horne worked on the creation of the site and it proved very stimulating.

"Encouraging the use of information technology with an exciting assignment has huge benefits."
