OUT of favour midfielder Tony Rigby has joined Third Division Scarborough on a month's loan.

The transfer-listed 24-year-old is likely to make his debut at Swansea City tomorrow.

Rigby has spent most of this season on the bench for the Shakers and has started just one game.

"Tony has been frustrated this season and asked to go on the list, we circulated his name and Mick Wadsworth at Scarborough asked to take him on loan," confirmed Bury boss Stan Ternent.

"The lad needs first team football and he'll get that at Scarborough. A change of environment will do him good and he will get match fit.

"It is really up to Scarborough whether or not they want to make the move a permanent one. I haven't really thought about it. I just want Tony to get some games in and come back in a month's time fit and ready to slot back into our first team squad."

Ternent, meanwhile, will take 16 players to the South West today, February 14, as the Shakers look to cement their promotion credentials at managerless Plymouth. Bury have a terrible record at Home Park having failed to score during four consecutive losses but will travel with confidence having won their last two league games.

The only injury doubt surrounds striker Ronnie Jepson who missed Tuesday's AutoWindscreens Shield tie with a thigh strain. David Johnson will continue to deputise should Jepson fail to recover.

Ternent is looking for the same kind of performance as his men produced in midweek.

"We were a little unlucky to lose but I thought we played well enough," he declared. "If we keep up that kind of commitment then we'll be all right."
