A HAPPY ending, then, to the little business of the bus stops that were not included in the revamp of Blackburn's Boulevard.
For, like many car drivers, passengers on certain routes discovered that the planners had decided that, for them, the Boulevard was a no-go zone.
Instead, they had to make do and queue at stops sited by a congested pavement in Railway Road.
And, at first, they did not even have shelters like the smart ones on the new bus station.
Then, when they got some, they were tiny and inadequate.
No-one was happy.
Not the passengers; nor the chemist whose shop from was blocked by the queues, nor the bus companies.
Now - though it is "not a simple process," we hear - the stops are being shifted...on to the Boulevard at last.
We share the public's delight.
And we would do even more if, in its improvements to the town centre, the council would just for once get something right first time.
