TEENAGER Heather Clark is glowing blue and white with pride after being named Blackburn Rovers' supporter of the year.

The 18-year-old student, of Foxstones Crescent, Blackburn, combines her love of the team with a desire to help others.

She is a member of the St John Ambulance service and can be seen standing on the Ewood Park sidelines at every home game, ready to put her first aid skills in to practice.

Heather has been a supporter for five years and was nominated for the title by her mum Freda and 13-year-old sister Melanie. Freda said: "We nominated her because she is a fanatic. She has signed programmes, shirts and scarves, and has met most of the team.

"Heather is a member of the St John Ambulance, so she can help people as well as watch the matches."

Heather heard she had been named supporter of the year when a letter from the club arrived at the family home. She said: "It was a surprise. I am a big fan, but I never expected this."

Heather, who is studying health and social care at St Mary's College, Blackburn, wants to be a nurse.

But, in the meantime, she is taking a year off after leaving college this summer and guess what she will be doing in her spare time? Yes...watching the Rovers.
