THE Clarets' assistant manager, Colin Harvey, is on his way to Everton after only two months at Turf Moor.

Harvey has been appointed youth team coach at the club he played for in the 1960s and 70s and managed in the 80s.

The move means Adrian Heath must appoint his third second-in-command since he came to Burnley last year.

He is expecting to bring in a replacement before pre-season training starts in two weeks.

The manager said Harvey found Everton's offer too good to refuse. "He is very sad to leave us, but the managerial game is a very precarious one and Everton have given him security.

"Everton has always played a significant role in Colin's life."
