CHRIS Waddle is set to ring the changes at Lincoln City tonight.

The Clarets open their Coca-Cola Cup campaign with a difficult first round, first leg tie at Sincil Bank.

And Waddle dropped a major hint today that there could be more than one change from the side beaten 1-0 at Watford on Saturday.

While new £200,000 signing Lee Howey appears certain to make his Burnley debut, Waddle could also deploy further changes.

"I am considering changing one or two things and that could mean the odd change in personnel," confirmed Waddle. "I will probably change the formation around a little bit for the Lincoln tie.

"The performance at Watford was positive and I had absolutely no complaints about the display in general."

Waddle knows the Clarets face another long ball barrage after Saturday's baptism of fire at Vicarage Road.

But up front he is still without the suspended Andy Cooke, who is serving the second of a two match ban. It remains to be seen whether Phil Eastwood partners Paul Barnes again, while Waddle also has the option of playing Howey in attack with plenty of cover available to him in the defensive ranks.

"I don't know yet whether to play Lee up front or at the back," Waddle added.

"It is a tough baptism at Lincoln for him, but he has played in non-league football, like myself, and I'm sure he has played more than enough of that sort of physical game to cope at Lincoln." "It will be a similar sort of game to Watford because Lincoln play long ball football and make it as hard as possible for the opposition. But we are just going to have to cope with it as we did on Saturday at Watford."
