APART from his family, football and history are ambitious Kevin Moore's two main loves.

So when the 37-year-old saw the Football Museum director role advertised last year he knew it was the ideal job.

After moving from Leicestershire the dad-of-two has now got his teeth in to the dream project which is getting closer to fruition.

The £11 million Football Museum, which will be mainly funded by Lottery cash, will kick off at Deepdale next summer and bosses are promising fans a treat.

As well as the £1 million FIFA collection of memorabilia it will house thousands of other items, a cafe, cinema and educational resource area.

Kevin said: "I could always see the case for this museum being in Preston. They are one of the founder members of the league and the first ever winners.

"And of course there's Sir Tom Finney. North End has a proud history so why not have it here?" In addition to the famous FIFA collection the museum has also acquired over 4,000 pieces of memorabilia from members of the public.

There'll also be a statue of Sir Tom on the road leading up to the building.

Avid Tranmere fan Kevin said: "We're celebrating football and the excitement of the game. We're really excited about this and hope to get visitors from all over the world."Kevin lives in Much Hoole with his girlfriend and two young children.
