FAMILY ties were never stronger than with local woman, Vicky Neserajah who scooped almost £100,000 on the National Bingo Game but has already given more than half of it away to her beloved family. Vicky Neserajah, is a regular face at the Mecca Bingo Club in Kirkland Street, St Helens, where she goes virtually every night with her brother-in-law, John. Last week, her dream came true when her ticket won not only the national prize of £90,000 but an additional regional prize of £5,069 and Mecca's £214 club prize. However, the generous grandmother of two, who runs Rose Villa Residential Nursing Home in Penkford Lane, Newton, with her husband Joe, has decided to give half the money to John and will also be providing her two children, Joanne (26) and 20 year old Peter, with £10,000 each. She told the Star: "I was overjoyed to win the money particularly because we go to Mecca so often. Even though the ticket was in my name, I had no hesitation in giving half the money to my husband's brother, John because we regularly go together and always share everything we win.

And the money for my children will also help provide for my grandchildren, Alessandra and Tobias."

Originally from Malaysia, Vicky came to Britain in 1968 to study for a nursing degree and she and her Sri Lankan-born husband and their children moved to Newton from Hertfordshire in the early 1980s when she got a job working at Winwick Hospital.

Vicky is not yet certain how she will spend her cash although she has no intention of ending her bingo playing days yet. "I will be continuing to play at Mecca although maybe not as often as every night. But the next night out I organise will be a celebratory knees up in our local pub for all the residents of Rose Villa as they were made up at our win."
