MAYOR and Mayoress of St Helens, Councillor John and Mrs Doreen Mealor, were among the guests at a very special birthday party.
The get-together at Eccleston Community Centre, was organised by St Helens Council to celebrate the 100th birthday of Sarah Hughes of Norley Drive, Eccleston. Councillor Alma Atherton, chair of the Housing and Environmental Services Committee, said: "It is not often that any of our residents achieve this wonderful age and it was a pleasure to be able to enjoy the celebration with Mrs Hughes."
