A FORMER Allanson Street Junior School pupil has just had his seventh physics text book published.

Brian Arnold (48) who lived in Parr and Billinge before moving to Northampton, writes science study guides aimed at helping GCSE students to pass their exams. His latest title, Physics Through Diagrams, has been published as part of the Oxford Revision Guides series.

After leaving Allanson Street, father-of-two Brian went on to Cowley grammar school before taking up a place to read physics at Bradford University. He then worked in electronics for Pilkington Glass, and Philips in Eindhoven, Holland, before taking up his present position as head of science at Roade School, Northampton.

Brian's proud mum Nellie, who still lives in Billinge, told the Star: "He has done very well and is quite a celebrity around here - people are always asking me to lend them copies of his books. They are all science based and his first book, A First Physics Course, was particularly well received."

BRIAN' Arnold's latest book, Physics Through Diagrams, is now on sale at Wardleworths Bookshop in Westfield Street.
