THIS week the Labour government showed how little it really cares about young people in Burnley.
People trusted Tony Blair when he said before the election that Labour had no plans to introduce fees for higher education.
But he has turned his back on his promises and at the beginning of the week, Labour MPs voted to introduce £1,000-a-year tuition fees.
Their support for abolition of the maintenance grant will make many students, especially from low-income families, think twice about higher education.
It's another broken promise from the party that fought the last election on "education, education, education."
