A YOUNG St Annes IV side again battled hard in their Fylde League division 2 game against high-flying Bourne Poacher B whose 83-4 innings was dominated by a fine 42 from Ray Billington.
James Wright toiled hard on a slow pitch for little reward and there were fine spells from Mick Auty (1-10) and Andy Taylor (2-14).
Earlier St Annes slipped from 48-3 following another sound knock from John Dougall (27) to 51 for 8.
But skipper Tim Rawstron (22 n.o.) held firm in a last wicket stand yielding 30 priceless runs as his side finished on 81.
