I RECEIVED a letter this week from an Atherton reader, I will not name him, asking why is it we women get so upset about such a little thing as men leaving the toilet seat up.
He asks if it is such hard work to put it back down. No, it's just an infuriatingly unnecessary extra.
He adds that women would soon complain if when they went to sit down there were dribbles all over the seat. Therefore men who lift the seat are being considerate!
I don't believe it.
Has nobody told him you're supposed to put the seat and lid down after you've finished - not before you do it?
The reason we get upset is that it looks a lot better - and is healthier. Have you not read only recently that when you flush a toilet germs can spread upto eight feet - onto your tooth brush? Ugh.
