BURY'S most senior councillor is now recuperating in Fairfield Hospital following a recent accident.
Coun David Davies (90), the "Father of the Council", was first taken to Bury General Hospital after he broke his right arm and suffered extensive bruising in a fall outside his Manchester Road home.
The Labour councillor for Redvales, who has notched up 40 years' municipal service, is now able to receive visitors in Brunskill ward.
