GREAT HARWOOD boss Ian McGarry should have a selection headache of a different kind for his side's match against Belper Town at the Showground.

The Reds boss was missing six of his first team squad for a variety of reasons for the Bank Holiday weekend defeats against Lincoln United and Flixton.

But Paul Brown, Neil Otley, Mick Lynch, Neil Baron and Steve Lynch are all expected to return tomorrow.

And with new signing Ged Walsh also returning to the Showground from Radcliffe Borough, McGarry now faces a headache as to who to leave out.

"We had Flixton pinned in their own half for long spells on Monday," said McGarry.

"I would have been disappointed to have come away with a point but to lose the game was devastating.

"If you don't put away your chances though, you won't win matches.

"Belper will provide us with a tough test because they've made a good start to the season.

"But when we can actually field our strongest squad then I believe we are a match for anyone.

"The battle is getting everyone out on the pitch at the same time."

Mark Walsh is still absent through injury. RAMSBOTTOM could welcome back Russell Brierley tomorrow when they make their first ever appearance in the FA Cup.

The striker may be fit following a summer hernia operation to face fellow North West Trains League side Maine Road in the preliminary round tie at the Riverside Ground.

However, manager Ken Bridge will be without the suspended duo of Dave Betts and Mark O'Brien, and Steve Orrell is unavialble because of cricket commitments.

Stuart Telfer is set to step up from the bench with Bridge making a late decision on the other replacements.

The tie has attracted national media coverage with one broadsheet paper starting their road to Wembley at Ramsbottom, and local television cameras are also expected to be there.

ROSSENDALE UNITED take their first steps on the road to Wembley with an FA Cup preliminary round clash against Brigg Town at Dark Lane.

The North East Counties League Premier Division outfit were voted one of the non-league teams of the 90s by a magazine recently and destroyed Clitheroe's day out at Wembley in the FA Vase final three years ago.

Reserve team keeper Gary Smith is set to take over in goal from the suspended Darryl Sloane and Matt Raywood and Paul Demaine are expected to return from injury.

John Richradson and Jerome Fitzerald will have fitness tests on hamstring injuries.

"As soon as you mention the FA Cup the players are always up for it," said manager Micky Graham.

"Obviously we are not going to win the competition but it would be nice to have a run, although it is going to be tough because they are a good side." DARWEN manager Steve Wilkes should welcome back Martin Hulme and John Haworth for his side's match with Chadderton at the Anchor.

Hulme missed the midweek win over Daisy Hill through work commitments while Haworth was unavailable due to a stag night.

Chadderton have made an indifferent start to their campaign after being relegated from the First Division along with the Anchormen due to ground grading requirements.

COLNE could have upto six players out of their clash with Formby at Holt House tomorrow.

Shaun Gibling is definitely out through suspension as are the injured Keith Chambers and Steve Gavin, while Mark Fitton is in Scotland on work commitments.

There are also fitness doubts over Johnny Roye and Mark Baldaccino but new signing Mick Charlton, who has joined from Ramsbottom United, is expected to make his debut.

"We are making a lot of chances at the moment but we just aren't putting them away," said manager Denzil Hart.

"As a team we have not quite gelled yet because we have a lot of new faces in the side.

"Formby are a big strong side who have got off to a reasonable but if we approach the game in the right way then we can beat them."

Accrington Stanley boss Billy Rodaway has made a double swoop ahead of his side's match at last season's FA Cup giant-killers Emley tomorrow.

The Reds boss has signed former Stalybridge midfielder Ronnie Goldbourne from Witton and striker Kerechi Okorie who was at Bamber Bridge last term.

They will come into the squad as Stanley search for their first win under their new manager.

But summer signing goalkeeper Jamie Speare is still missing after an operation on an abscess and Steve Baines is doubtful after picking up a knock in Monday's 1-1 draw with Lancaster.

BACUP BOROUGH manager Brent Peters has completed the signing of former Accrington Stanley and Wigan Athletic utility player Carl Greenwood.

Greenwood will play in a reserve team fixture at Castleton tomorrow and should make his first team debut against league leaders Abbey Hey on Tuesday.

Borough's first team have no fixture tomorrow because they have been handed a bye into the next round of the FA Cup after their opponents Blackpool Rovers dropped out of this season's competition.

NELSON must take on Maghull at their Old Hall Field ground without suspended trio Lloyd Green, Craig Whittaker and Chris Halstead.

But Nick Roscoe, Steve Ross and John Naylor are set to continue after coming in as replacements for the midweek draw with Squires Gate.
