A BEATEN up father-of-four is still unable to remember what happened to him in the eight hours before he was found battered and bleeding in a Nelson back street.

Robert Lowry, 29, is recovering at home in Ford Street, Burnley, after undergoing surgery for a broken jaw at Blackburn Royal Infirmary.

He also received treatment for extensive cuts and bruises suffered in an assault.

The last thing Mr Lowry can remember is leaving an off-licence in Old Hall Street, Burnley, between 11.30pm and midnight on Thursday and reaching the junction with Barden Lane.

He was found at 7.15am the following morning five miles away dumped in the back of Crawford street Nelson.

Since his release from hospital on Monday, he has been re-interviewed by detectives, but still has no recollection of what happened to him in the missing eight hours.

Det Sgt Graham Briggs said they were still appealing to the public for information of any incident in the Barden Lane area or from anyone who may have seen Mr Lowry in Nelson before 7.15am.
