I AM writing to tell you I have got the telegraph for 59 years -- honestly. We used to call it the pink then and there was the last sports Saturday.
It was delivered by tram then to West End paper shop.
To go to see Rovers play, we used to go by tram to Blackburn Station, 5p return, and walk to the ground.
I wonder if any of your readers can remember these Rover players: Binns, Eckersly, Walter Crook, Cunliffe, Guest, Bob Pryde, Whitside, L Butt, Clarke -- killed in the war.
Rovers -- one shilling, Blackburn end.
W LORD, Burns Avenue, West End, Oswaldtwistle.
