Division Two: Manchester City v Burnley - Pete Oliver's big match preview

ANDY Cooke is relishing the prospect of entering the Maine Road cauldron tomorrow in search of Burnley's first victory in six games.

The Clarets' winless streak has also coincided with a barren spell for Cooke but there's no question of last season's leading scorer going into his shell against Joe Royle's Manchester City.

"I think with City being the big attraction they are these are games you are going to look forward to.

"That's what it's all about, playing on nice grounds with a big support. These are the sort of games you want to play in," he insisted.

And for Cooke there would be nothing better than silencing the light blue majority in an expected crowd of over 30,000.

"It's been an up-and-down season and the goals have not been coming regularly. I am not getting too worried about it although I would like to score," he admitted.

Cooke's only two League goals to date secured a 2-1 win over Millwall at the end of August since when Stan Ternent's men have failed to take maximum points.

They have tasted defeat just twice in that run but away from home it has been a struggle to put points on the board.

City, meanwhile, are yet to be beaten at home in the League but Cooke is hoping to turn the situation to Burnley's advantage.

He added: "The pressure will be on them, being at home, and with us having an up-and-down season they will probably be going in thinking they can beat us.

"But there won't be any pressure on us and there's no reason why we can't get a result.

"When teams come to us they are always up for it. There's an extra lift for teams coming to play us because we are a team everyone likes to beat.

"It's turned round when we go to City and it will be something for us to go and get a point, like at Reading, or a win which is always the main aim.

"We have just got to go into the game positive."
