The League recently published a list of 100 League Legends which included former Burnley favourite Jimmy McIlory.

To add to that they are now producing a further collection of 'greats' to mark the 100 years the League has been in operation with one player chosen from each club.

Burnley's nomination will come from supporters' votes with the name of the most popular player being forwarded to the League by the end of the month.

McIlroy is sure to be among the front-runners again but there may be other players you feel performed better or contributed most to the club.

To register your vote, send the name of your chosen players along with your name and address on a postcard to the Lancashire Evening Telegraph at 20 Keirby Walk, Burnley.

The entries we receive will then be passed on to Burnley FC who have also held a poll in the match-day programme and will inform the League of the result.

From the entries sent in, one person will be drawn to win a couple of free match tickets and hospitality for a game at Turf Moor, hopefully with the Local Hero present.

STAN Ternent has made a point of saying this season that the future of the club appears to be in good hands after blooding several youngsters in the first-team.

And watching the reserves against Coventry City on Wednesday night confirmed that view.

Of the 11 players that started the game, two were trialists and seven were teenagers.

Captain Gareth West is only 20 which made Kevin Henderson the senior professional at the age of 24 !

Midfielder Paul Graham continues to catch the eye and right winger Brad Maylett looks a very bright prospect once he gets a bit stronger.

Coventry included the likes of Gary McAllister and Ian Brightwell but were still made to fight for their 1-0 win.

THE RESERVES' next test comes at Manchester City next Tuesday night in a Pontins League First Division game that kicks-off at 6.45pm.

ANOTHER of Burnley's promising youngsters who has been on the scoresheet regularly for the under-18s this season started a three-match ban today.

Eammon Kelly was sent off a fortnight ago and after today's game against Oldham, will also miss the matches against Tranmere and Wigan in the Football League's North-West Alliance.
