APPLICANTS for jobs at a cable company turned up drunk or were not really interested in being taken on, a councillor claimed.
Management at Lucas Rists Wiring Systems in Accrington were recruiting about 100 workers.
But Coun Doug Hayes told Hyndburn councillors that some applicants only turned up to get a piece of paper signed so they could stay on the dole.
