INOTED with dismay your article concerning the proposed Blackburn Transport service to the Trafford Centre, Manchester.

It appears this service is to be cancelled and as a non-car owner I and my family were looking forward to visiting a large shopping complex.

This would not have replaced our normal shopping, which we always do in our town, but would have made us feel we were part of the same society which seems to cater solely for the car user. Surely in these times of increased car pollution we should be encouraging people to leave their cars at home and use public transport, but this seems to have been undermined once again by a few petty minded traders in Blackburn and Darwen.

After all, the place has already been built, so why exclude certain members of the paying public from using it.
