STAN Ternent is keeping Wrexham guessing on the replacement for suspended Andy Cooke.

The Burnley boss has a number of options as he attempts to leapfrog Brian Flynn's side at Turf Moor tomorrow.

Colin Carr-Lawton is in the squad and could provide a straight replacement.

Another possibility for Ternent would be to switch Glen Little up into the front two.

And Phil Eastwood is bursting for a chance to prove his scoring credentials.

He filled an alien midfield role at Macclesfield last week in his first start of the season, having twice been sub.

But Eastwood, who scored 10 for the reserves last season, is willing to play anywhere in a bid to cement a first team slot.

He said: "It was difficult at Macclesfield last week having not played in midfield very much recently.

"Once Cookey was sent off it was very hard work.

"But I felt I did quite well -- I just carried on and worked hard.

"I felt I had been playing quite well in the reserves, although I have not scored many this season.

"I have always scored goals in the past at the club and I would like to think I could maybe do that in the first team."

Ternent has also been robbed of the option of throwing Peter Swan into a central striking role, the defender having sustained a calf injury. The manager said: "I am keeping the element of suprise.

"Wrexham are a good passing side and have been together for a long time.

"But I am more concerned about our lot as we have quite a few injuries.

"It is more a case of needs must at the minute.

"And we have Cookey out, which I could do without."

Chris Brass and Steve Morgan are included in the squad, although Ternent would ideally have liked the pair to have had longer to ease their way back into the reckoning.

Squad: Vindheim, Reid, Eastwood, Carr-Lawton, Armstrong, Little, Scott, Heywood, Brass, Kval, Morgan, Payton, Ward, Maylett, O'Kane.

Meanwhile, Wrexham boss Brian Flynn has swooped to bring in Manchester United centre forward Terry Cooke on loan ahead of tomorrow's game.

The youngster, on his way back to his best form after a bad knee injury, could make his debut for the Welshmen alongside Ian Rush in attack. Flynn will be without injured full back Mark McGregor and the suspended Kevin Russell, a former favourite at Turf Moor, otherwise The Robins are expected to be at full strength.

He will chose from: Cartwright, Brace, Hardy, Carey, Ridler, S Roberts, Chalk, Skinner, Cooke, Ward, Brammer, Owen, N Roberts, Connolly, Spink, and Rush.

Mark Ford is hoping to feature for the A-team tomorrow in his comeback bid.

The Clarets Independent Supporters Association are holding a meeting at the Sparrow Hawk, Burnley, tomorrow, to consider their next step following the recent sit-in.

Any interested fans, as well as CISA members, are welcome to attend the meeting starts at 1pm.
