A PRAYER vigil to ward off evil spirits on All Hallows Eve was planned at Sabden Methodist Church, on the slopes of Pendle Hill.
And pubs all around Pendle were also going bump in the night as landlords decided to close their doors after police requests, to avoid the drunken trouble that had marred the night in the past.
