THE five churches in the central area of Burnley have announced Christmas services.

Central Methodist Church is holding a 10.30am family service on Christmas Day.

At Sion Baptist Church there will be an 11.30pm midnight communion on Christmas Eve, and a 10.30am family worship on Christmas Day.

Bethesda Street United Reformed Church will hold a 6.30pm youth service on Christmas eve. The congregation will be at Nelson United Reformed Church for candlelit carols and communion at 11.15pm and at 10.15am on Christmas Day for the family celebration.

At St Peter's C of E Church there will be carols around the Christmas Tree at 4pm on Christmas Eve with an 11.30pm midnight communion service. On Christmas Day there will be a service at 10.30am.

St Mary's RC Church will hold confessions at 12 noon on Christmas Eve and at 7.30pm there will be the first Mass of the Nativity. On Christmas Day there will be Masses at 9.30am and 11.15am.
