FRED Nutter entertained Christmas shoppers in Nelson's Admiral Shopping Centre for the 70th year as a band member of Nelson's Salvation Army Band.
The band was joined by the choir from the Nelson Council of Churches for a selection of carols.
Fred, 77, who began playing with the band when he was just seven years old, said: "I was in the junior band and I played a battered old tenor horn held together with string."
He said: "I like the friendship in the band and the Salvation Army."
The band played at a carol service in Barnoldswick on Saturday night and yesterday they played in Carr Hall Road, Barrowford, and at the carol service at the citadel.
