A SHOPKEEPER allegedly twice sexually assaulted a girl of 13 after taking her to a flat above the shop.

Tahir Mohammed, 25, allegedly had a drinking contest with the girl, asked her if she was any good at giving massages and if she had ever performed a sex act.

He then twice indecently assaulted the drunken teenager, but told police she had made advances towards him, Burnley Crown Court heard.

Mohammed, of Royds Street, Accrington, denies two counts of indecent assault last June.

Fiorella Brereton, prosecuting, said the girl went into the store to buy some chocolate just before 10.30pm.

Mohammed chatted to her, asking if she liked to drink and asked her round later.

Soon after, the girl saw Mohammed driving his car and got in.

She went back to the flat and after she had a drink Mohammed suggested a drinking contest to see who could finish the next drink the fastest.

After vodka and beer, the teenager went into a room with a bed. Feeling very drunk, she sat on it.

She said an indecent assault then took place.

Miss Brereton said the next thing the girl recalled was being in the bathroom and leaning over the wash basin, with the defendant pressing against her.

Later police were called and the teenager was medically examined and the defendant was arrested.

Mohammed told police the girl had suggested having a drink and he thought she had already had alcohol. He told her to go.

Later he said the girl invited herself into the flat.

She told him she was 16 and he gave her a small vodka.

The defendant claimed the girl made the advances.

He said she told him she had nowhere to go as her mother had kicked her out. He denied having a drinking contest
