BURY born but now living in Cleveleys, Mr Sidney Booth wants to trace the whereabouts of his sister, May, who was born on November 22 in 1921 or 1922.

It is thought that May, who married a Jeffrey, or Geoffrey, Wood, changed her Christian name to either Madeline or Magdelene. She worked in Bury at Ashworth's slipper factory and later as a receptionist at the Derby Hotel.

She had four other siblings: Lillian, Ann, Florence (now in Australia) and Elsie. Two of the sisters were members of the Salvation Army.

Their parents ran a jewellers in Princess Street.

May lived in Taylor Street, Bury and later on Bury and Bolton Road.

Her brother, in his 70s, is not in the best of health but he would love to make contact with May.

Anyone who can help find May should contact Jill Whitley of Holyhead who runs a voluntary tracing and contact service which has already united some 60 people. Her phone number is 01407 761 463.
