A FAMILY whose two precious dogs were shot by a farmer have launched a desperate search after a third pet went missing.

Legal executive Louis Rebello, who lives in a farmhouse home in School Lane, Guide, had three valuable weimaraner dogs.

Two of the pedigree animals, Sophie and Prince, were killed when they wandered on to farmland close to the family home.

The family spent two days searching for the dogs before discovering they were dead.

And now the third and final dog, a seven-month-old puppy called Trudie, has gone missing.

The family have offered a reward to anyone who can help trace the animal.

Mr Rebello, who supplied puppies to former Blackburn Rovers captain Tim Sherwood, says the dog has been missing for almost two weeks.

He said: "We have another dog which is a mongrel. We were all at the farmhouse and we let the dogs out for 20 minutes to exercise.

"The dogs were out of sight for a couple of minutes and I thought they had gone round the front of the house with my wife Sue.

"The other dog came back but Trudie disappeared.

"The funny thing is I had just bought new tags for both the dogs with their names on one side and our address and telephone number on the other."

The police investigated the shooting incident but no prosecution was brought against the farmer.

Trudie is silver grey and fully grown. The dog had a red collar with a name tag and answers to her name.
