Wrexham v Burnley - Pete Oliver's big match preview

WREXHAM are one of only two sides Burnley are still to face who may have nothing but pride to play for in the League this season.

Nine of the Clarets remaining 11 fixtures are against teams who look certain to have promotion or relegation on their minds.

But tomorrow's trip to the Racecourse Ground won't be any easier for that with Robins manager Brian Flynn insisting that his side aren't yet safe from the drop.

Wrexham were actually sixth from bottom at the end of January following a 5-0 home defeat by Preston.

But they showed the kind of resolve Burnley now need and three wins and a draw away from home, allied to two draws at home, since then have taken them to 12th-place and mid-table safety.

That's not quite enough for ex-Burnley favourite Flynn, though.

He wants another seven points to hit the 50-point safety barrier and wants them as soon as possible.

Flynn will recall goalkeeper Tommy Wright tomorrow after the Northern Ireland international, on loan from Manchester City, missed the mid-week Auto Windscreens northern area final first-leg defeat at Wigan.

And Ian Rush may pursue his incredible search for a first League goal of the season.

The Welsh legend is likely to start on the bench. But with this set to be his last season on the pitch, the player-coach will be keen to make the most of every opportunity to avoid signing off a prolific career by drawing a blank.
