A TEENAGER who went missing more than a fortnight ago was safely back with her family today, after a tip-off led police to a house in Accrington.

Police launched an appeal to find Fiona Wooliscroft, 15, of Bertha Street, Accrington, after she failed to return home from school. Officers went to a house in Willows Lane at 3pm yesterday, where they found Fiona had been staying with a friend.

Inspector Stephen Lee of Accrington Police, said: "We picked Fiona up from a house in Willows Lane after three young men came in and told us where she was. The men had read reports in the press that she was missing.

"We spoke to Fiona to make sure she was okay. She is now back with her mother and they are talking about what has happened."

The Moorhead High School pupil had contacted her mother, Pauline Arthurs, after a police appeal was published in Lancashire Evening Telegraph, but had not gone home.
