LEIGH'S Royal Oak are a point away from clinching the NorthWest Counties ARL Division Five title.

And they reached the tip of the winning post with a champion-style performance to beat derby rivals Culcheth Eagles 40-30.

In a match of free-flowing rugby, Eagles had Oak pedalling backwards for 60 minutes.

But patience and fitness came to the fore as Oak turned on the style in the final quarter . . . a credit to coach Mick Fishwick.
