THREE men, one a 70-year-old pensioner, were badly beaten up by thugs in three separate attacks in the area this week.

The pensioner was robbed of £300 cash outside the post office on Poulton Road in Morecambe, a 17-year-old was beaten up by eight hooligans at the clock tower in the resort and three men kicked a victim about the head in Lancaster.

The OAP was mugged in an alleyway by the post office at about 9.15am on Monday. His attacker forcibly pushed the elderly man against the wall and snatched his bag containing the cash. The pensioner was not seriously hurt. The robber was described as having big hands, stocky, wearing a black woollen hat. He escaped the old man by riding off on a yellow pedal bike.

The 17-year-old male was set upon by ta gang of eight for no apparent reason between 10.30pm and 11.30pm on Friday night. He suffered bruising and had teeth knocked out. He was taken to the RLI but was not seriously harmed.

In the small hours of Saturday morning another victim was attacked by three men, again for no reason. They punched him in the face until he fell to the ground. Then they kicked his face and body before walking off when he could no longer offer any resistance at all.

One of the attackers was about 6ft, 20, short fair hair, wearing lemon coloured shirt and chinos. The other was Asian, about 5ft 6ins stocky, wearing blue checked shirt and leather Kicker shoes. There is no description of the third offender.
