LOCAL gymnasts are being given the chance to go for glory.
For St Helens MBC Sports Development team is hosting the St Helens Gymnastics Championships at Sutton Leisure Centre on Saturday. May 1.
The event has been organised in conjunction with the town's gymnastics clubs.
And the individual winners of each category will go forward to represent the borough at the 1999 Littlewoods Merseyside Youth Games.
Sports Development Officer Jake Collin commented: "This event will offer a competitive opportunity for the novice gymnasts and the more experienced competitors currently training at clubs within the borough".
Spectators are very welcome, the event starts at 9.30am and is expected to finish at around 12.30pm.
