The event will be held in Montreal and 20-year-old Jenna Bailey will be there after beating 17 other hopefuls to win the national final of the Beauty Therapy Skills competition.

Jenna said of her win: "It was absolutely brilliant when I learnt I'd won. I haven't had time to think of going to Canada yet because, to be honest, I'm still in a bit of a daze.

"I really didn't expect do get as far as I have done and I was genuinely shocked, but the college has given me loads of help along the way."

Jenna, from Preesall, is the first national winner of this prestigious event which will feature competitors representing 40 different countries in Canada from November 7 - 18.

Course tutor Sue Simpson, who will escort Jenna to the Skill Olympics, said: "We are absolutely delighted Jenna has won a competition at this level. Her hard work and professional approach was obviously what the judges were looking for.

"We left Blackpool at 3am to drive down to the national finals in Warwick. It was an extremely long day, but the result speaks for itself."
