A LOTTERY Commission grant of £1,600 is helping the 1st Briercliffe St James' Scout Group celebrate their fortieth anniversary year.
The money has been used to buy five Vango Force 10 tents.
At the annual general meeting thanks were expressed to former scout leader Glen Holdsworth for his work in securing the grant.
District Commissioner Howard Mitchell presented annual awards to: Neptune column Beavers of the year Ryan McMullen and Samuel Williams; Saturn column Simon Ardwick and Gary Clarke; Orion cubs, Shane McDowall; Pegasus cubs, Lee Clark; Scouts, Paul Emmott; Venture Scouts Stephen Woodcock and Russell Thornton.
