TWO-GOAL 'striker' Glen Little believes Burnley may still need one more win before putting their feet up for the summer with their Second Division status assured.

Little played up front in the second half of the Clarets' stunning 4-1 win at Stoke on Saturday, when he scored twice to put the result beyond doubt.

The win lifted Burnley to 15th, five points clear off the bottom four, with Little admitting: "We had to come here for a win and get a bit of breathing space and we are delighted with the result."

However, he claimed there is still work to be done, adding: "There are still nine points left and if we don't pick up another win and teams below us win three, which is a bit unrealistic but could happen, we could still get sucked in so we feel we need at least another win.

"I think a few of the boys may be packing their suitcases but you can get sucked in.

"If results don't go your way and the likes of Northampton, Oldham, York and Bristol Rovers pick up a couple of wins in the next couple of games we could find ourselves going to Northampton needing to win and we don't want to find ourselves in that situation."

Some of the clubs near the foot of the table have shown remarkable powers of recovery. But none more than Burnley, who stretched their unbeaten run to eight games.

Little added: "We got off to a great start, Ally Pickering scored with a brilliant strike against his old club and then straight after Andy Payton made it two.

"To be fair to Stoke they came back at us and probably deserved their goal. Then in the second half they had a lot of possession and we were hanging on really.

"But we were always dangerous on the break and while they missed their chances we took ours."
