THE watch my grandma has owned for three years suddenly stopped working.
She thought it was strange as she had been winding it up every day. She took it to the shop from which she had bought it and a member of the staff took it into the back room.
We must have been waiting ten minutes when he came out and said: "Excuse me madam, this watch is battery operated."
"Oh, I do feel a fool," said my grandma. But she still winds the watch every morning: "It's habit," she said.
