WHY didn't William Davis (Sports Letters, May 4) return the tickets he had bought for Southampton and Charlton when he heard about the live screenings at Ewood?

Plenty of people would have gladly taken the tickets off him for the asking price, or even more. I know I would - if I had the money and the time off work.

What Mr Davis seems to forget is that plans to beam games back live can only be made permanent when the club's consignment of tickets has been sold.

Would Mr Davis have bought the tickets if he had thought the game was being beamed back anyway? Probably not - like many others.

What this so-called supporter is paying for is the chance to watch his team 'live,' not with a slight delay and a dodgy commentary plus loss of picture when the link decided it didn't want to show any more.

He has been offered the chance to get behind the team, to voice his support and to enjoy a day out at another Premiership ground.

While I can understand some of his frustration, why didn't he let someone else have the tickets instead? There are plenty of true supporters who would kill to get their hands on tickets for these games, but can't for one reason or another.

Now that Mr Davis knows about the possibility of the Newcastle game being shown at Ewood, will he still be taking his share of tickets that he is entitled to?
