A TOP civil servant from the Department of Trade and Industry is to visit Burnley tomorrow.

Director general David Durie will be at Burnley Business Centre on a visit hosted by Burnley Council.

Economic and property committee chairman Coun Tony Harrison said: "We look forward to having the opportunity to explain what we are doing in East Lancashire to support the economy and to find out what the DTi is planning in the way of changes to the business support infrastructure nationally.

"We are fortunate to have such a high-ranking official visit the town."
