Lancaster 13 Birkenhead 4

FOLLOWING last weekend's narrow defeats Lancaster were back to winning ways - and exacted a sweet revenge the following day.

With an experienced backbone to the side in Bowers and Detko being joined by newcomer Dougie Campbell and inspired performances from youngsters Steve Knowles and Paul Squires Lancaster took full control of the game.

Initially Birkenhead went two up courtesy of Lancaster errors up front but this was a Lancaster win.

Rotherham 4

In their second weekend fixture Lancaster exacted revenge for last weekend's narrow defeat by comprehensively beating the Rotherham upstarts.

Burgess stayed in the water this time to top score with four goals - the best way to obtain any kind of revenge - while good support came from Bowers, Mountfield, Detko, Campbell and Powell. The less experienced continued to show their promise with Squires and Knowles demonstrating similar form to the day before while Baker was sound in goal and Taylor and Jones gave good support.

Lancaster's next home fixtures are on Saturday July 24 against Paragon and on Sunday July 25 against Sheffield. Both are a 7.30pm start.
