THREE students from Lancaster and Morecambe College, Gavin Winder, Daniel Stobbart and Matthew Wilkinson have completed the arduous Operations Raleigh 26 mile Brecon Challenge.
Gavin's father, Mick, and course tutor John Entwistle lent support.
For Daniel and Matthew it was valuable training prior to their entry into the military. Gavin used the event to raise money for the Mongolian Raleigh Expedition he goes on in 8 weeks. The expedition will bring together 120 youngsters to work on a series of environmental, community and adventure projects. Course tutor John Entwistle says: "It will be excellent preparation for his chosen career in the Fire Service." To fund the expedition, Gavin is undertaking a number of activities to raise money. He is keen to link up with a company who would like to be associated with Operation Raleigh. Gavin be contacted via John Entwistle at the college on (01524) 66215.
