A GROUP of East Lancashire employers have been given a pat on the back.

The 12 organisations have all been re-recognised under the Investors in People standard and collected their certificates at an awards ceremony.

Among the employers represented included some who have notched up a third successful assessment under the IIP standard.

"It is significant that so many organisations represented at the event were experiencing major changes and were all very different in what they do," said Paul Heald of ELTEC.

"Yet they all are enjoying continuous business benefits arising from their commitment to IIP."

The employers included accountants Porter, Matthews and Marsden of Blackburn and Burnley; Smith Sutcliffe of Burnley and Padiham; Prisma Commercial Solutions of Blackburn; Calderstones Practice Development Centre/Chestnut Drive, Viktor Achter, Burnley; Imperial Home Decor, Darwen, Wolstenholme International, Darwen; Michelin Tyres, Burnley; Accrington & Rossendale College; Red Rose Cottages, Clitheroe and Northern Joinery, Whitworth.
