POLICE fear for the safety of a teenager from Hoghton who has been missing for more than three days.

Alex Graham Kenyon, 18, was last seen on Tuesday when he set off for work as usual at 7.30am from his family home in Bank Head Lane.

Alex never arrived at his workplace, Iddon Brothers in Quin Street in nearby Leyland.

Police say he has a history of depression and divers have been searching Denholm quarry in Whittle-le-Woods for two days.

House-to-inquiries have also been carried out in Hoghton and the police helicopter is being used to search the surrounding countryside. Officers have also spoken to friends and relatives.

Alex is white, 5ft 11in, has a fair complexion, is stocky with blond hair and blue/ grey eyes.

He was wear a black blouson jacket, dark trousers and Reebok trainers.

Alex was also wearing a distinctive signet ring and was carrying a black rucksack.

He was travelling on a Green Claude Butler mountain bike.

It is not known whether Alex had any cash but he was believed to be carrying his cash point card.

A police spokesman said: "Obviously Alex's family are very concerned for his safety and we would urge him to get in touch with them as soon as possible.

"If anyone has seen anyone fitting Alex's description or knows of his whereabouts they should contact the police as soon as possible on 01772 433561."
