A FURIOUS housewife is involved in a long-running dispute with a furniture store after claiming plans for her dream kitchen turned into a nightmare.

Tracey Teasedale, 23, of Union Road, Haslingden, decided to buy the kitchen more than two months ago from the Bury branch of MFI and paid for it in cash.

But since then she claims she has had a catalogue of problems.

She says she was left without a cooker for 10 days because the first one delivered to her home had two dents in the door.

Tracey has also returned five sets of doors for units because they were damaged and six sinks after she discovered scratches and dents.

Furious Tracey has finally lost her patience with MFI and is planning to discuss her next move with trading standards officers. Tracey said: "I have had nothing but problems since I bought the fitted kitchen and the whole thing has turned into something of a nightmare. The sink is supposed to be unscratchable, but every unit which has been sent to the house has had fine lines in it and has been chipped.

"The manager of the Bury branch came to see us at home and was most unhelpful. He did not seem to be that interested in our problems.

"We were without a cooker for almost two weeks and we are still waiting for a sink two months after paying for the kitchen."

David Caplan, the manager of the Bury store, said: "I am aware of the situation, but it has now been passed on to head office.

"I would not like to comment further than that, but the quality of the merchandise sent out was the same quality as the goods we have on display in the showroom."
