A CONTROVERSIAL building which almost became a haven for the homeless in Darwen looked set to be demolished.
Residents would have been rejoicing if a plan to build houses at the Marsh House site in Darwen was given the go-ahead.
A successful campaign had stopped it becoming a homeless hostel the previous year.
