BAD weather was the winner in the Memorial Sunday Football League this week, with all Division One matches postponed and only four games played - all at Memorial Park.

One match was played midweek and the Miners Arms in Division Three gained their first points of the season with a surprising 5-0 defeat of Accrington Clarets. Sunday saw one match played in Division Two when Cross Axes defeated Woolpack 4-0. This puts them top of their division.

Three matches were played in Division Three. King's Arms maintain their 100 per cent record and place at the top of their division with an 8-2 win over Woodnook. Wilpshire Bull's Head recorded their first victory of the season with a 3-2 win over Knuzden, and Printers Arms move up into third place with a 4-2 win over Miners Arms. Results - Division Two: Miners Arms 5, Accrington Clarets 0; Cross Axes 4, Woolpack 0. Division Three: King's Arms 8, Woodnook 2; Knuzden FC 2, Wilpshire Bull's Head 3; Printers Arms 4, Miner Arms 2.
